"BOBBY BANKS WILL LIKELY DIE IN PRISON"

The notorius "Big C" aka Bobby Banks, the deposed leader of the 23rd Street Crips in Little Rock was found guilty of multiple charges in federal court on Tuesday. He will likely spend the rest of his life in prison. While his wife is upset that her son will lose his father, she also said she understands the system. KTHV Channel 11 has video of the story and a two-part story on MS-13 as well. Click here to see it.
Part of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette story says:
[...]
“We are glad to see that,” said Sgt. Terry Hastings, police spokesman. “We knew that his network was extensive. Hopefully, by this conviction and with him being sent to prison, the organization — his part anyway — will become dysfunctional, and that will lead to more arrests by narcotics officers.” Hastings added, “He is not the drug scene in Little Rock. He is just a piece of it. So this doesn’t mean we can slow down or stop what we’re doing. There are plenty of others out there.”
Banks, 30, is known as “Big C,” which refers to his position of several years as the leader of the 23rd Street Crips, also known as the Wolfe Street Crips, in Little Rock. He was featured prominently in a 1994 HBO documentary on Little Rock’s growing problem with street gangs called Gang War: Bangin’ in the Rock. That same year, he was acquitted of a murder charge stemming from the 1992 death of a 14-yearold girl who was hit by random gunshots fired into a crowd on a Little Rock street corner. A few months later, he pleaded guilty to a federal charge of discharging a weapon in a school zone. The late U.S. District Judge Stephen M. Reasoner sentenced him on Dec. 20, 1994, to 34 months in prison. About five years later, a federal jury found Banks innocent of being a felon in possession of a firearm. [...]
Now it will be important for the community to step up to the plate and fill the vacuum created by Banks' removal from the street. If an aggressive effort is not pursued in the intervention and prevention fields, a new leader will simply step up to fill the vacancy created by Bobby's impending imprisonment.
Peace- Live It or REST in It
