From My Friend Tony Kail- This is most disturbing.
Friends,
After visiting Africa and hopefully returning this year I have aquired a special burden for the precious peoples of Africa. They are truly the most wonderful sweet people you will ever meet. They endure hardships that most of us will never see but yet maintain to be the kindest people I have come to know.
I would like to share a webpage with you about a wonderful organization and film called 'The Invisible Children'. I recently had the opportunity to meet with some of the people behind this project and to review this very important film. The Invisible Children is the documentation of a horrible tragedy that is taking place in Uganda. A group known as the 'Lord's Resistance Army' is a terroristic cult that stemmed from a woman known as Alice Lakwena. A spirit spoke through Lakwena to create an army to resist local government. This army is now led by Joseph Koney. Koney directs the army to forefully recruit children to fight in the cause. Young girls are raped. Boys are beaten. All must fight for the LRA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord's_Resistance_Army
There is a tremendous underground movement of thousands of children that make a nightly commute into hiding to run from Koney and his thugs. Estimates of over 20,000 children that have been taken by the LRA are documented. http://www.alertnet.org/thefacts/reliefresources/112376984032.htm
There are many factors involved in this issue but the primary one is that the coverage of this tragedy is next to nil here in the Western world. Please take a look at the site and its purpose. This is not a religious affiliated group, just one of caring humans.

I too have had the honor of meeting with Tony Kail almost two years or so ago. This is a man with a heart for young people and a professional of the highest sort.
It is tragic that so much of society's resources are wasted on "causes" that may be somewhat honorable but too little attention is given to the very future of society.
Our children are dying. Whether from gang violence, abuse and neglect, or absolute starvation. Too often we are consumed with saving the whales, saving the condor, and so on...while we leave our most precious resource unattended.
To save all these things is fine. But if we do not work collectively to save our children there will be no one left to enjoy all that we have worked so hard to "save."
Kudos to Mr. Kail and as always thanks to Steve for your dedication to the mission.
Anthony
