An Amazing Sea Story
In the title block above, I said that occasionally I might wander away from the gang related theme of this blog. And today I am going to.
This video is a short 6 minute look into the life of an amazing sea captain. CAPT Glen "Pappy" Sears was the commander aboard the USS Razorback (SS394) a World War II era submarine.
Working in the Mayor's Office of North Little Rock I get to handle a lot of interesting projects in addition to serving in the Youth Services Division, and one of the most exciting things in my work portfolio is acting as a liaison between our city and the people at the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum who run the day to day operations of the boat.
Captain Sears served aboard Razorback in the sixties, watch as he boards it for the first time in 40 years.
A true tribute to Memorial Day.
